How Do I Hear God Speak to Me?

“The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out…his sheep follow him because they know his voice.” John 10:3-5
Many Christians wonder, “Does God still speak?,” or “How do I know if what I am hearing is really from God?” Jesus said His sheep know His voice. That means hearing God is not reserved for pastors, prophets, or spiritually elite people. It is part of the normal Christian life.
God speaks through His Word, through the Holy Spirit, through prayer, through Godly counsel, through conviction, and sometimes through circumstances. But we must learn to recognize His voice above the noise of the world, the enemy, and our own emotions. The more time we spend with God, the more familiar His voice becomes.
